Pedal pipes (3)
The wooden pedal pipes were added by H.C. Lincoln in 1837, the lowest pipe being more than 20ft long. The 'speech' of the pipe is affected by the height of the 'mouth' which is the slit near the bottom of the pipe, seen here with the pipe on its side. The mouth heights had been altered later; they have now been restored by inserting thin slivers of timber along the top lip of the mouth.
